Q: Do I need a prescription or referral from my physician?
A: No. Physiotherapists are first line health care practitioners so you do not need a prescription from a doctor for physiotherapy. For patients with extended health benefits, please check with your service provider as some insurance companies require a prescription before covering the cost of physiotherapy.

Q: Will my insurance benefits pay for my treatments?
A: Physiotherapy is generally covered by extended health benefits. However, we recommend that you contact your insurance provider to confirm coverage details and billing information.

Q: What can I expect from my first visit?
A: We recommend that you arrive 5 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to fill out the intake forms and become acquainted with the clinic. Your therapist will take a complete history, conduct a thorough assessment, explain the findings, determine a treatment plan and begin treatment. Please bring comfortable clothing and any medical test results that pertain to the condition for which you are being treated.

Q: What should I expect from follow-up visits?
A: At Align, follow up visits are booked based on findings from your initial consultation. You should expect that your follow up visits will be tailored to your specific condition and the treatment that will be provided will be progressive from visit to visit. There is no set number of follow up visits. It depends on the goals you outline at the beginning, but rest assured every effort will be made to achieve them.
