Align Physiotherapy + Sports Clinic is a progressive clinic that treats a variety of injuries and conditions that range from simple to highly complex. Depending on your condition, the team will prepare an individualized treatment program that may include any of the following health services:
Integrated Dry Needling (I.D.N): I.D.N is used to treat musclo-skeletal pain and soft tissue dysfunction by the insertion of thin and flexible needles into the muscle. It can help to relax and loosen muscles and increase blood flow to the tissue.
Medical Acupuncture: Acupuncture is an effective treatment during which thin needles are inserted into specific points along the body’s meridians to correct any of the body’s imbalances in energy.
Manual/Manipulative Therapy: A hands-on technique that involves diagnosing and treating restrictions in movement in the spine, arms, and legs with the goals of reducing muscle tightness and improving movements in joints to reduce pain and improve function.
Massage Therapy: Massage therapy consists of hands-on manipulation of soft body tissues, specifically muscles, connective tissue, ligaments, tendons and joints, to improve one’s health and well-being by acting on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems.
Physiotherapy: Physiotherapy aims to enhance or restore function of multiple body systems thereby improving quality of life through an integration of manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, and education.
Pre-and Post-Surgical Rehabilitation: Pre-surgical rehabilitation involves strengthening and mobilising joints prior to surgery to help support faster recovery and better post-surgery outcomes. Post-surgical rehabilitation is designed to support a return to normal activity.
Vestibular Rehabilitation: An exercise based program designed to promote central nervous system compensation for inner ear deficits. This can include benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), unilateral or bilateral vestibular hypofunction (reduced inner ear function on one or both sides), Ménière’s disease, and vestibular neuritis.
Sport Concussion Rehabilitation: A customized program designed to evaluate and treat concussions that cause dizziness, poor balance, headaches, vertigo, and reduced spatial awareness. Our knowledge in manual therapy provides a hands-on biomechanical assessment of the neck and treat the patient using a combination of vestibular rehabilitation and cervical focused physiotherapy. This combined treatment includes individualized exercises created to improve balance, stability, posture, and neck/eye movement in order to heal the affected sensory systems.
Arthritis Management: The practice of identifying and treating the sources of dysfunction that contribute to increased wear and tear of the arthritic joints.
Running Assessment: An assessment which encompasses a range of evaluation and analysis of the patient’s lower quadrant to determine movement inefficiencies that could lead to injury.
Sport Injury Rehabilitation: The treatment of pain or mechanical dysfunction with an emphasis on the importance of early injury recognition and preventative treatment.
Telerehabilitation: A physiotherapy session with one of Align’s registered physiotherapists done virtually and in real time. These video treatments have a focus on movement analysis, exercise prescription, and patient education. They are available for individuals that are unable to attend an in-person session at the clinic. If you are interested, please contact us to set up your virtual session.
